After over 15 years of graduating from the institution, the 2006 set of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Accountancy Students have decided to come together to formalise their interaction, by officially inaugurating the Osun State Polytechnic NAPAS Alumni Association.
This is contained in a release issued and signed by its publicity officer, Olumide Olayinka on behalf of organizing committee, and made available with newsmen in Osogbo.
According to the release, the reunion would hold between September 30 – October 2, 2022, at Miccom Golf Hotel & Resort, Ada, Osun State.
The release explained that, the journey of reunion started last year when the old students of the institution’s department of accountancy met at Ibadan, Oyo State, to celebrate their 15 years of graduating from the school and department.
The event, which was well represented by the school management, including the Rector and Deputy Rector of the institution, was highly applauded.
Olayinka averred that, the desire to give back to the department and school that has contributed in no small measure to the lives of the old students, some of whom have made marks in their career and business pursuits, led to the decision to officially register the Alunmi Association, in order to put the right structure that can drive the desired impact in place.
He said, One of the aspirations of the Alunmi Association is to harmonise all the Accountancy graduates of the institution under one umbrella and make Osun State Polytechnic Accountancy department one of the renown schools of Accountancy in Nigeria and beyond.
According to Olayinka, the maiden Annual meeting will see the association usher in its newly elected executives that will steer the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The meeting will also be an avenue for friends and former students to reconnect with each other with a lot of fun, game competitions and other social activities.
Among those that are expected to grace the occasion are the Acting Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, the Dean of Faculty of Financial Students, the Head of Accountancy Department, and other dignitaries of the institution, including current and past lecturers that have contributed to shaping the lives and careers of the students of the department.
