The Nasarawa State Police Command says it has arrested two young men for killing a three-week-old baby in Ungwan Maina, Lafia Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, in a statement yesterday in Lafia, said the two suspects: Abdulkadir Ahmed and Hassan Sabo are currently in detention while further investigation is ongoing.
The statement read: “Police operatives attached to ‘D’ Division, Lafia, have arrested the duo of Abdulkadir Ahmed and Hassan Sabo, both males and 40yrs old of Ungwan Maina, Lafia, for killing a three weeks old child.
Preliminary investigation revealed that on 11/10/2022, the principal suspect (Abdulkadir Ahmed) asked his friend (Hassan Sabo) to lure the mother of the deceased to his shop located opposite Correctional Facility, Lafia, under the pretext of seeking reconciliation; a lady whom he earlier cohabited with, got her pregnant and sent her away”
