National University Commission has approved the establishment of University of Ilesa osun state as the 60th State University in Nigeria.

This approval came after the state Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has assented to the law seeking to upgrade the Osun State College of Education, Ilesa to a full-fledged University.

Upon this approval, The University will be the 60th university in Nigeria that will be managed by the state government.
