According to a report made by the Punch Newspaper, it was said that The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Thursday, at the end of the Automated Biometric Identification System, identified 2,780,756, as the number of ineligible registrants in Kano State.

Reacting to the Report, Oluwole Osaze Uzzi, who is the Former Director of Voter Education, INEC, when asked by Reuben Abati on the Arise News morning show how on earth did over 2.7Million fake voters get on the list in the first place?

Oluwole Osaze Uzzi, in his words, said:

“He heard about the 2. 7 million ineligible registered voters and was a bit worried as it was an incorrect story, as either the reporter got the figures wrong or the electoral commission was misquoted. The total number of ineligible registered voters released by INEC is about 2. 72 million people, not just in Kano but nationwide”.

Oluwole Osaze Uzzi went on to clarify that they are not fake but ineligible in the sense that either they are not supposed to have gone for CVR, or possible they have registered before and doing multiple registration
