Breaking: Man Posing as ‘EFCC Chairman’ Arrested in Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested one Salman Umar Hudu, a 38-year-old Kano native, at a hotel in Abuja on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, for falsely representing himself as the EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa, and other commission officers.

The suspect is also said to have obtained N100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) from someone who convinced him that he could ‘handle’ any matter with the EFCC.

According to an EFCC statement issued on Wednesday, the suspect has provided useful information and will be charged in court once the investigation is completed.
