The immediate former Deputy Governor of Osun State and Deputy Coordinator of All Progressives Congress Presidential campaign council, PCC in Osun State, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has described Godwin Emefiele as a politician who is pursuing an ulterior motive.
This comes amid a scarcity of the newly redesigned naira notes and the rejection of the old currencies by many commercial banks and financial institutions in some parts of the country.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Honourable FM in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Tuesday, the former Deputy Governor alleged that Emefiele was pursuing an ulterior motive to scuttle the forthcoming general elections.
According to him, the currency swap policy of the apex bank is a joke taken too far which takes an enormous toll on ordinary Nigerians.
“He (Emefiele) is a politician that we all know, wanted to contest the presidency by acquired nomination form and it’s a pity that the hands of the government are tight when it comes to a certain decision because of their relevance to the International community that may not be able to sack him”
“Asiwaju demonstrated courage when he speak against the unpopular cashless policy, some of his opponents (Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi) supported the policy but few days later, one of them started condemning the policy while other still in support of the policy.”
Speaking on the chance of the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu winning the forthcoming polls, Alabi who is a Deputy Governor of Osun state between 2018 to 2022 said he’s confident that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC will win by a landslide in the February 25 general election
“Asiwaju is more proactive, he sees the problem they can’t even see not shine away because it was my party that is involved”
Alabi said Tinubu is the only candidate that can engender desired change and development in the country.
He said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the capacity and competence to bring the desired change.
“Tinubu will revamp the nation’s industries and use technology to tackle the numerous challenges Nigeria is faced with”
He explained that the former Lagos State Governor has demonstrated his capacity in Lagos, he added that “Lagos is a country on his own”
The former Deputy Governor of Osun State also enjoined the people to vote for all the candidates of APC in the forthcoming election from President to the state houses of Assemblies.
