It is no longer news that the Independent National Electoral Commission has declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Tinubu as the winner of February 25th presidential poll.

However, several people including civil society groups as well as as international observers have criticised the outcome of the election especially the none compliance of BVAS in transmitting the results from the polling units.

It would be also be recalled that the two front-runners in the election, Mr Peter Obi of labour party, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party have proceeded to court to challenge the outcome of the election. The two candidates are seeking for the court to declare them as winner.

Reacting on the development, President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has described the claim by his opponent as nonsensical. Media Directorate of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign (PCC) who spoke on behalf of Asiwaju Tinubu at a press conference held on Friday in Abuja, stated that Mr Peter Obi should no be claiming victory because he does not have agents in 40,000 polling units across the country.

“It’s funny LP’s candidate who didn’t have agents in 40,000 of polling units is claiming victory” he said.
