Speaking at a national seminar titled “From Elections to Governance and Performance,” Obasanjo emphasized the urgent need for a process of national moral rearmament and reconciliation to bridge the gap between different regions and assuage the youth.

Obasanjo’s call for national reconciliation comes at a time when Nigeria is grappling with various challenges, including insecurity, ethnic and religious tensions, and economic struggles.

The former president stressed that the division caused by the election must be addressed urgently to prevent further corrosion of the country’s social fabric.
He added that Tinubu’s administration must prioritize the needs of the aggrieved and take proactive steps to bridge the gap between different regions, communities and groups in the country.

Obasanjo’s appeal to Tinubu is expected to receive widespread attention in Nigeria’s political landscape, considering the former president’s experience and influence in the country.

The call for national reconciliation is also significant, as it echoes a growing sentiment among many Nigerians who believe that the country needs to come together to address the challenges facing the nation.

As such, Tinubu’s administration will need to prioritize national reconciliation efforts in its governance agenda to address the deep divisions in the country and ensure a more united Nigeria.
