Just in: Oyetola Aide, Debo Badru, drags Party Member to Court Over Publication, Demands N500M damages

 In a surprising turn of events, an aide to the Fomer Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Alhaji Debo Badru, has launched a process of taking a party member Chief Ganiu Muideen Alabi (Akogun of Iwo Town) to court and is demanding N500 million in damages.

In a demand notice filed by counsel to Alh. Badru which was sent to Mr. Muideen Alabi on 15th April, 2023 obtained by Naijinfo in Osogbo confirmed that Alh. Debo, who was the Special Adviser to the Governor on political matters, is seeking retraction of the false libelous and defamatory statements that Akogun made during his interview granted by Southern News on the 9th of April, 2023 and which was published on the 10th of April, 2023 by IMPARTNEWSPOINT regarding him.

He is also demanding an unreserved apology for the libelous and defamatory harm the publication has done to his name and which must also be published on the online platform IMPARTNEWSPOINT.

Alh.Debo demands for the sum of =N=500M as compensation for the violation of his constitutional rights and for the damages to his reputation.

According to the papers, Akogun was alleged to have made false and malicious statements against Badru, which was published by an online news platform.

The statements were said to have damaged the reputation and good name of the former governor’s aide.
