In a significant move to strengthen healthcare and medical education in Nigeria, President Muhammad Buhari has given his assent to the Federal University of Health Sciences Ila-Orangun (Establishment) Act.

The new legislation paves the way for the establishment of a specialized university dedicated to health sciences in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

The signing of the Act by President Buhari underscores the government’s commitment to improving the nation’s healthcare system and addressing the critical shortage of skilled healthcare professionals in Nigeria.

The Federal University of Health Sciences Ila-Orangun aims to provide quality education, research opportunities, and specialized training in various health disciplines.

With the signing of this Act, the university is now authorized to offer degree programs and conduct cutting-edge research in fields such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health, medical laboratory sciences, and other allied health sciences.
