Disquiet in Osun PDP as Adeleke Appoints Another Aregbesola’s Man Chairman House Commission
In a move ostensibly to reward support members of the Aregbesola’s caucus in the Osun APC extended to the Peoples Democratic Party in the last elections, Governor Adeleke has appointed another loyalist of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Hon. Israel Adekunle Oyekunle (popularly called Forum) as Chairman of the Osun state House of Assembly Commision.
His appointment was announced this Thursday at the Plenary by the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adewale
Egbedun, through the Letter received from the Executive Governor of
This appointment, however, is generating concerns among PDP and Senator Adeleke loyalists in Osun as many are troubled that while many of them who over the years have been committed to the party are yet to be compensated for their loyalty, many supporters of Aregbesola, who contributed little or nothing to the electoral success of Governor Adeleke and the party, are over pampered with political patronage and appointments.
Oyekunle was the Lawmaker who represented Ejigbo State Constituency between 2019-2023 in the state assembly. He is a close ally of Senator Mudasiru Hussein.
Forum equally shares political affiliation with the former speaker of the state assembly, Hon. Najeem Salaam, both of whom were strong leaders of the proscribed The Osun Progressives (TOP), a political tendency deployed to work against the aspirations of President Bola Tinubu and Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola in Ejigbo and environs.
