Governor Ademola Adeleke is a special breed in manufacturing lies to score cheap political points, just like many of his media swindlers who peddle misinformation with reckless abandon to cover the hopelessness and failure of their government.
Anywhere Gov. Adeleke goes, it is the bombastic story of how he has declined receiving Security Vote that rents the air. But contrary to his claim, records confirm not only has Adeleke been receiving Security Vote, he has even spent more of such special fund than his predecessors he has crafted the foolish narrative to malign and demonize.
From January 2023 to June 2024, Governor Adeleke spent over N4bn in the name of Security.
According to page 41 of Osun State audited financial statement for 2023, Governor Adeleke drew N3.08bn under Expenses described as Security Services. Similarly, from January-June 2024, he also drew N684m for Security Vote and N377m for Security Services, making total of N1.05bn.
If Governor Adeleke has been drawing heavily from the treasury of the state in the name of Security Vote/Security Services, why then does he project different scenario to the public? What is his motivation for telling lies with expenses that are duly reported in the financial record of the state?
Many argue that Adeleke’s administration is notorious for deceiving the public, making it essential for citizens to fact-check every statement released by the officials. This includes controversies sorrounding the number of tractors purchased and health centres renovated.
For instance, Adeleke claimed to have purchased 114 tractors, but the lie was later detected when only 31 tractors were hurriedly assembled for unveiling and show-boating. On a live television broadcast, Adeleke was also captured exaggerating the number of completed primary health centres, stating 332, instead of the actual 55 announced by his health adviser, Dr Akindele Adekunle, earlier in the week.
