Oyetola 70th Birthday: Committee Lauds Large People’s Turnout, Successful Implementation of Medical Outreach in Osun

The Committee for the 70th Birthday Anniversary of former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola has lauded the successful implementation of a four-day medical outreach conducted at different four locations of the three senatorial districts in the state where over 4000 Osun residents benefitted tremendously from the free medical and surgical exercise.

Recall that the committee had earlier announced its resolve to carryout free medical and surgical exercise in Osogbo, Ilesa, Iwo and Iragbiji respectively where over 4,000 people were targeted to benefit from the free medical service delivery with climax of free surgery exercise for the less-privileged and downtrodden in the society.

According to the Committee, the series of events including the free medical outreach earlier announced were being sponsored and funded by the Oyetola’s friends and associates in commemoration of his birthday.

The free medical exercise which kickstarted on Tuesday in Osogbo, the political headquarters of Osun Central Senatorial District recorded a huge success as about a thousand people were treated on different ailments while many were given drugs and other health-support items after being attended to by the top-notch medical team assembled for the exercise.

In the same vein on Wednesday, the train of the exercise moved to the popular Geriatric Centre in Ilesa, the political headquarters of Ife/Ijesa Osun East Senatorial District where over 1000 people across the district received various degrees of medical intervention while others with critical health conditions ecstatically enrolled for surgical operations scheduled for Saturday 28th September, 2024 at Geriatric Centre, Ilesa.

Also on Thursday, the good people of Osun West Senatorial District were attended to by the medical team in Iwo, the political headquarters of the district where about a 1000 residents were treated on various ailments.

Similarly on Friday, the train of the free medical exercise moved to Aragbiji’s palace in Iragbiji where about a thousand people benefitted immensely from the gesture rounding off the scheduled for locations targeted by the Committee.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Committee and former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, after the successful implementation of the exercise across the four locations, it is revealed that surgery exercise would be carried out tomorrow Saturday on the patients that had voluntarily put-in and registered for same at Geriatric Centre, Ilesa.

The statement assured that all the patients that applied for the surgery would be attended to noting that there is a provision to extend the surgery exercise beyond Saturday if the need be in view of the number of the applicants.

The Committee expressed satisfaction on the quality services delivered by the medical team so far as well as the impressive turnout of the residents of the state which indicates their wide acceptance of the initiative targeted to promptly and adequately respond to their health needs.

The Committee further expressed readiness for future collaboration and partnership towards improving on the healthy living of the people of the state.

Owoeye disclosed that as part of the line-up events for the birthday, the activities continue with special Thanksgiving programme at Union Baptist Church, Odi-Olowo, Osogbo on Sunday as well as interdenominational prayers session for the celebrant at Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, Osogbo so also with educational support and food items distribution to the residents of the state.
