Several reports on the perceived attempts of the leading opposition party,the All Progressive Party (APC), to dislodge the incumbent party (PDP) from the helm of affairs in the state has gained traction in recent times. As a testament to the claims, and after the emergence of the APC governorship candidate ,Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Ondo State, the current National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, in person of Umar Ganduje, further reaffirmed the intent to evict the current occupant of the Bola Ige seat of power in person of Senator Ademola Adeleke by saying: ”Osun is next”.
Various gladiators have thrown their hats into the ring based on valuable insights gathered on the cyber space. And with the substantiative facts collated from the street hints coupled with the reports on the media space, the former Governor of the State and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy,Gboyega Oyetola, is likely not contesting in the next 2026 governorship election.
Nonetheless, different juggernauts in the party have decided to give it a chance by vying for the Governorship Ticket of the leading opposition party,All Progressive Congress for the next Osun Gubernatorial Election.
